Glen Alexander Hansen, age 61, of Apopka, Florida passed away on June 15, 2022 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Glen is survived by his fiancée, Bonnie O’Connor; brothers, Bruce Hansen of St. Stevens, Alabama and Gary Hansen, of Old Saybrook Connecticut; and his sister, Terri Phillips, of Oxford Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bette MacKail Hansen, and his sister Sandie Hansen, whose son Jon he lovingly raised after Sandie’s untimely passing.
Glen’s love for family continued his entire life. Shortly after meeting Bonnie, he expanded his family to include Bonnie’s daughter Veronika and to become a grandfather to her three children Kathryn age 5, Wyatt age 3, and Adelynne age 2. They will all miss him dearly.
Glen was born on September 7, 1960, in Greenwich, Connecticut, and moved to Florida with his family in 1967. He graduated from Deerfield Beach High School in 1978. He later moved to West Palm Beach, Deltona, and Apopka where he worked as a master electrician for over twenty-five years.
Glen was a great family man and a loving father who was deeply involved in providing for his family for all his life. His interests included competitive BMX bike racing in his younger years, as well as dog training. In recent years he enjoyed fishing with his fiancée. His family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking, determined and dedicated family man.
